The concept of the Pentagrammaton was developed in the 16th century. The Hebrew letter Shin was added to the
Tetragrammaton (YHVH) in an attempt to link it to the name Jesus. Yehshuah (YHShVH) is not the correct spelling of Yeshua (the Hebrew spelling of Jesus). Although not linguistically correct, the Pentagrammaton has symbolic significance. Araham and Sarah's names were changed by adding a letter form the Tetragrammaton to them (Gen 17:5, 15). Likewise, Yeshua was given a new name not yet revealed in scripture (Revelation 3:12, 14:1). Shin can represent Spirit or Shekinah, and Yeshua was conceived by the Holy Spirit and in Him the fullness of God dwelt (Col 1:19, 2:9). The five points of the star can represent the head, arms, and legs of a man with the letter Shin serving as a crown on the head, or as the Spirit, in the Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit concept with the Pentagram. In the circle are the names of the five books in the Torah. In the center of the star is the Hebrew word Chai (living) referring to the Living God.
